Shipping Ports:

The major shipping ports in Sierra Leone Leone are Port of Freetown, Port of Pepel. RoRo (Roll-on, Roll-off), is the most common method of vehicle shipment in the country. However, there is container method which is expensive yet safe and is arranged upon customers request.


Left-hand drive vehicles:

Importation of only left-hand drive vehicles is allowed in the country.


Age Restrictions:

Sierra Leone has no age limitation on used imported vehicles and offers no compulsory inspection.

  • Original certificate of title and registration

  • Original Commercial or Purchase Invoice

  • Driving license and International Insurance Policy (Green Card)

  • Residence Permit

  • Original Bill of Lading: Registration number, Chassis and Engine number, Cubic capacity, year of manufacture, brand and model.

Import duty on vehicles:

  • Vehicles up to 4 years old - 5%
  • Vehicles between 4-10 years old - 20%
  • Older than 10 years old - 30%
