Shipping Ports:

Port of Tallinn, Port of Kunda and Muuga Harbor are the ports of the country.



If you have a used car of 10 years or older in Estonia, you must have it tested for roadworthiness every 12 months after the date of the last roadworthiness check.

Documents Required:

  • Application form

  • Act of pre-registration roadworthiness test

  • Registration certificate

  • Certificate to confirm the type of vehicle

  • Customs documents

  • Expertise act

  • Act of old the vehicle

  • Other relevant documents


Duties & Taxes:

Import duties include customs duties, 7.5 percent VAT, CHF 15 for a report required for vehicle registration, and a consumption tax of 4 percent of the vehicle’s value. 

Note: A roadworthiness test doesn't have to be conducted each time a vehicle changes owner.
