  • Establish a contact with the dealer you’re dealing with. If the dealer does not agree on talking on phone, then it is something for you to wary. Make sure the conversation is telephonic, not email.
  • Don’t get carried away by discounts availed by exporters on used vehicles and their flashy websites. Try to avoid deals from dealers whose deals are too good to be true.
  • Check the online escrow company’s website to detect any sloppy content or grammatical error. Many times the site’s information is the content copied from legitimate escrow company site.
  • Always prefer buying vehicle from experienced and reputed exporters. In Japan there are many used vehicle exporters who are in the business of used vehicle exportation from years. If you are buying a vehicle for the first time, order just one unit. Don’t order many units at the time.
  • Check if the exporter is a member of any certified organizations like JUMVEA, JETRO etc. These information help buyers to judge the goodwill of the exporter.
  • Payment must be made in Company´s bank account in Japan only. Avoid making payment in personal name or outside Japan bank account.
  • Don’t give your personal or financial information to the supplier until you’re completely ensured about the legitimacy of the exporter.
