Paris Motor Show

The Paris motor show is held every two years. In 2016, the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles trade fair grounds will welcome car lovers and trade professionals from around the world from Thursday 4 October to Sunday 14 October. It is the most visited motor show in the world, with more than 1,066,000 visitors in 2016. Dozens of launches and world premieres take place at this world-famous, must-see event packed with eye-catching stands and innovative events. At the last edition of the show, 245 car brands from 19 countries displayed their latest designs, showing 140 novelties, and the possibility to try the autonomous car. Alongside the show proper, there are a host of car-related events, workshops and exhibitions focusing on economic, social and technical issues affecting the automobile sector. The show gets huge international media coverage, with more than 10,000 accredited journalists from 100 countries. It generates hundreds of hours of French and international TV and radio coverage in places as far-flung as
Brazil, Mexico and the U.S. The motor show is open to the trade and the general public alike, with a well-organized schedule of press days, trade-only days, general public days and late openings. There are special arrangements for group visits. This show will always be remembered as the event where electric vehicles stopped being niche and moved into the mainstream. There were simply too many battery electric models, launched or forecast, for anyone present to imagine that their life isn't going to be affected, and in the near term, by the presence of electric vehicles.
