Japan Automobile Service Promotion Association (JASPA)

Japan Automobile Service Promotion Association (JASPA) is mainly organized by the automobile service establishments in Japan (there are about 72,000 enterprises and 88,000 service shops across the country).

It is a private national public association established under the law (the Road Vehicles Act) and having the Automobile Service Promotion Associations in each urban and rural Prefectures as the regular members, and automobile manufacturers and the automobile industry related service field as the special members.

What is JASPA?

JASPA performs such functions as promote practical solution of various problems of the automobile service industry and the business circle through adjustment of fair opinions of the business circle plan and prepare the education and training programs and texts for improving the service techniques of mechanics engaged in the service work, and conduct the qualification tests on their service techniques by the authority of the government agency with the object of contributing toward sound development of this industry and realization of a safe and clean "car society".

In order to attain this object, JASPA is making wide range activities based on the special knowledge and experience supplied from many fields of the automobile industry by generous cooperation of manufacturers and various organizations concerned, not to speak of the service industry.


Activities of JASPA:

JASPA is carrying out the activities as below.

  • To examine the problems of the automobile service industry and this business circle from all viewpoints, decide their reasonable solutions propose them to the government, the Diet and the competent authorities, and cooperate with them in the enforcement of administrative actions.

  • To make the researches, investigations, and information collection necessary for the JASPA activities, and prepare and publish various statistics on the automobile service industry.

  • To be consulted about the problems of automobile service and sale, and publish the contents of the car to be recalled (defective car).

  • To endeavor for the safety of automobiles, prevent the environmental pollution by them and the safety of traffic from the standpoint of automobile service.

  • To prepare the education and training programs and texts in order to promote the technical improvement of automobile service.

  • To conduct the automobile service techniques qualification tests.

  • To make guidance in proper transactions for service and sale of automobiles.

  • To cooperate in the investigations researches and activities for rationalizing the distribution of automobiles and parts.

  • To make efforts to obtain people's proper understanding of the automobile service industry and at the same time make the activities of public relations such as publication of organ, distribution of survey data, service techniques data, management guidance data, etc., collection and offer of the information related to the industry, etc.

  • To endeavor to maintain a cooperative relation with the organizations concerned in foreign countries through dispatch and acceptance of the study and observation groups to inspect the automobile service industries abroad and home.

  • To carry on the projects for welfare and benefit of the persons interested in the automobile service industry.
